Carpe Diem A5 ring planner

I bought a Carpe Diem A5 ring planner on sale for $20 at FloraDec (https://www.floradec.com/, 373 N Nimitz Hwy, Honolulu, HI 96817). I will be using this planner for my health and wellness. The notebook that I was using did not work for me. This size is bigger than what I am use to, but its worth a try! 2020 Health Journal Flip Through

Here is my 2020 Health Journal flip through and 2021 set up. In the past I’ve documented my health trackers via Instagram and iPhone notes or app, but I switch to pen to paper tracking. I’ve used notebook for keto and carnivore challenges, food logs, ketone/fasting tracking workouts, run logs now journaling. I’m moving into a small “2” notebook for 2021 that will contain the same content. Celebrate non-scale victories!

I’m back into my size 4 shorts.  I’ve been a size 12 then I lost 50 pounds with clean eating, portions control and lots of exercise.  I felt super restricted and unsatisfied.  I gained some weight back, but losing weight this time around has been easier with meal prep and keto!  I never feel deprive, you just need to be creative!  It’s crazy how just changing your diet and mindset can make a big difference!  My goal was never to be skinny!  It’s to be a healthy mama for my little ones!

Keto Carnivore

Sorry for the lack of health updates on this blog.  I have been active on my Instagram.  I tried to do Keto last year and failed!  In the end I had preferred to do an intuitive carb cycling.  I usually avoid process food and snacking!  Since going back to work I’ve been leaning more to Low Carb/Keto.  I had gestational diabetes during pregnancy and my Hemoglobin A1C did creep up to 5.5 as of August 2019!  I want to make sure I do not become a diabetic!  So I started to track my net carbs on Carb Manager, but I didn’t want to mess up my milk supply.  When I went back to work I started to meal prep again and being more mindful of what carbs I was eating.  I did eat oatmeal, but cut back on bread, rice, sweets.  So far no problems with my breastfeeding! I decided to try Keto Carnivore in October.   I was inspired to try this way of eating after meeting Arlene  @selflovehawaii  and Krystal  @k3to.krys...

Hello 2019

Aloha!  Wow it’s been a 6 months since my last blog post!  Sorry for lack of postings. I finally got married and we are expecting baby #2 in May.  I was training for the Honolulu Marathon which was in December and signed up for the Biastin Marathon Readiness Series which was in August, but after my second race, I started suffering from sciatica pain and had to stop running.  I’ve done some light weight training and cardio during my pregnancy, but I was not consistent, first trimester symptoms kicked my ass and my motivation has been all over the place!  So now that the new year is here, I need to find something to keep me and baby healthy.  I’m going to try Tone It Up !  I signed up for the Love Your Body Series and I’m getting acquainted with the iOS app, Toutube and Website.  I’ve been following Katrina and Karena on Instagram for a while so I decided let’s join the #tiuteam #tiupregnancy.  Wish me luck!

Team Beachbody review

Do you need to lose weight?  Have you tried Beachbody? Don’t worry this is not a sales pitch.  We all want to lose some weight and look better.  I know I wanted to lose some baby weight.  I started seeing people who used Beachbody on Facebook ads and got great results.  Is this real?  I was definitely intrigue and started following them. Now before I continue, this is not a hate post!  I still support Beachbody, but only as a previous customer who had success with their products.  I was a paying Team Beachbody member and Beachbody coach since 2014 and decided to stop doing this about 2017.  I originally signed up as a coach after I lost 50 pounds postpartum doing 21 day fix.  I was so excited with my results I wanted to share it with the world!  Because of my success my coach recommend for me to become a coach so that I can benefit in the sales of my success! I joined Beachbody coaching and started to promote their products on...

Weight loss update

7 year comparison.  Left is December 2010 and right is this past Mother’s Day.  The difference between these pictures is 50 pounds, happy and healthy!  I was 188 pounds wearing size 12, night shift nurse with not much exercise, no care on nutrition and in a dark place in my life.  Now I am 138 pounds wearing size 4, charge nurse for a outpatient clinic, mother to a 4 year old, loves to run, loves food, practices carb cycle intuitively!  My life is crazy stressful with work and our upcoming wedding, but I’m bless with everything I have in life.  At one point in time I was obsess with weight loss but now l have changed my mind set to focus on my happiness!  Let’s face it the goal shouldn’t be skinny it’s to be happy and healthy always!!! #behappy #bodypositivity

Hello 2018

2017 is gone and 2018 is here. I felt last year was an odd health year for me.  The goal was to maintain my weight but I actually gained weight.  I was bummed to gain weight, but I shouldn’t be bummed because I ran a marathon! I struggled with finding a balance with everything in my life.  I was not paying attention to calories, meal preps or even working out.  Running was convenient for me because all I needed was shoes and then  I made the time to run.  I thought running would makes me lose weight because it has helped me in the past!  Not true for me this time, I was most likely over my calories intake post run meal.  I’ve also notice in the past years that my body looks “nicer” when I lift weights.  I hardly lifted weights last year because I just didn’t have the time.  I was already stress with work.  I started drinking more alcohol and caffeine. There are many running articles, books and the dietitian that I consulted ...

Change

Change, evolve, adapt... Stress is the motivator for change.  I was diagnosed at 19 years old with hypertension.  So young to have this problem.  I was trying to get into nursing school at that time and started taking medications to help manage this problem.  After my complicated pregnancy, I change my eating habits, started exercising and was able lose weight which help decrease my blood pressure.   I had permission from my doctors to stop my medication.  These past few months I've been going through a lot of work related stress.  In October the doctor said I had to restart medication because my blood pressure was high again.   This made me upset because I had maintain my 50 pound weight loss so I couldn't understand why my healthy lifestyle was no longer helping me management my blood pressure. Stress?  Genetics?   I had lost motivation in my health.  I am still working out and eating healthy but a little bit of me feels l...

Hello 2017

My insurance offers a free gym membership that starts this year, 2017.  UFC is not part of my insurance's approved gyms.  So I discontinued my UFC membership.  I was paying about $90 a month and not making use of the ultimate membership.  The only reason why I like to go was because the gym was close to my work. Right around the time I decided to stop my UFC membership, I had an ankle injury.  I haven't been in the gym since October.  Then I went to Disneyland with my family, enjoyed the holidays, my family and I got sick, and indulge during the birthdays of my fiance and mom.  My workouts and eating were wack!  I gained almost 12 pounds.  I was at my lowest weight at 128 and went up to 142 pounds 😢 After my mom's birthday I told myself lets get serious now.  I signed up for 24 Hour Fitness.  I paid $200 initiation fee, which is not too bad because I do not need to pay a monthly fee.  The nice part of my insurance ...

The Master's Hammer & Chisel Results

I enjoyed weight lifting with Sagi in Body Beast and Autumn with 21 day fix and 21 day fix extreme so when I heard that they collaborated and made a program together I could not wait to try it!!! H&C program has 12 different workouts about, 30-40 minutes long and incorporates stabilization, strength and power.  It comes with 21 day fix colored containers with expanded food list and more recipes, no repeats if you have their previous programs.   January 11, 2016 before H&C Weight 141 Chest 34 Arm  11 right 11 left  Waist 29 Hips 34  legs 19 right 19 left March 21, 2015 after  H&C Weight 130 Chest 33.5 Arm  10 3/4 left 11? Right  Waist 28.5 Hips 33.5 legs 18.5 right 18.5 left This program reminded me of p90x3.  I still enjoy doing the weight lifting part.  I realize I hate endurance training 😳

Weight Loss Update January 2016

2015 was a rough fitness time for me.  I stated my new career as a clinic nurse and feel like my weight loss has plateau.  I would love to be 125, but my body seems to like being 135.  So I need to just keep up with working out and eating healthy. I was doing bodybuilding.com workouts to get variety.  I tried Ashley Conrad's 21 day Clutch Cut , Erin Stern's Elite Body , and Chassidy Smother's Beyond Basic Training .  I enjoyed all these workouts and got more comfortable with lifting weights.  I was practicing paleo on most days.   How do you accomplish new year's resolution?  Set your goals, set a due date, plan your steps, do it, keep accountable and reflect!!! 2016 goals are set thanks to  @chalenejohnson Push.  Will keep up with food logging and workout planning. I am going to be aware of my carbs and food intake, but wont be strict paleo.  I want to keep up with weight training. Since its GAR...

1 year since I made a commitment to take care of me!!!

April 7 -  21 day fix extreme end round 2 Weight 136 Chest 33 Arm  11 right /11 left  Waist 28 Hips 31 .5 L egs 17.5 right 17.5 left So I did not lose any weight or inches after this round of 21 day fix.  I was disappointed at first... Then I saw this picture.  It has been 1 year since I started this journey. In the picture on the left I was still working night shift, 6 months postpartum and did not workout. The picture to the right is my post 21 day fix extreme results, round 2. I am grateful to be on this health journey Changing the way I eat and adding 30 minutes of exercise has help me transform my life!!! I no longer need to take blood pressure medicines (which I started taking at 19 years old). I still eat sweets in moderation, but I never had to starve. I learn to balance healthy eating and working out. With my busy life I make time to be healthy and eat healthy!!! Keeping the 50 pounds off is hard but I'm grateful tha...

21 Day Fix Extreme Results

I love the 21 day fix because it jump started my weight loss. After doing p90x3 and Body Beast I started to enjoy weight training because it helped to change the way my body looks. Even thought I may have "gained weight", I did not look as flabby. So when I heard Autumn Calabrese was making a new program, I knew I had to get it. 21 day fix extreme is a totally different program compared to 21 day fix.  This program pushes you more harder. The 7 day workouts are more intensive with less rest, but the nice thing is the workouts are still 30 minutes long that you do for 21 days. If you follow the "Countdown to Competition Guide, this nutritional guide is more stricter. March 16 Weight 136 Chest 33 Arm  11 right /11 left Waist 28 Hips 31 .5 legs 18 right 18 left   So I lost a 1 pound since doing finishing 21 day fix extreme. I can't be disappointed, because that a good thing. As I compare my overall body results in 21 days I had lost 1/2 inch from...

Body Beast Results

So I use to workout at the gym with a trainer.  My trainer was a nice guy and offered many helpful tips, but when he started to push me to lift heavy, it really intimidated me.  The gym was full of guys lifting heavy and here I am not knowing what the hell I am doing and last thing I want to do is get hurt.  Even though I had a trainer to guide me into weight loss, it was costing me a lot of money to continue, plus I had a weird stalker experience, so I quit .  I tried to go to a new gym with my sister after giving birth, but with not much direction and not knowing if I am doing this right, I stopped going. Anyways weight training seems so scary to do by myself... so why did I decide to try Body Beast?  Well with the success of p90x3, I figure lets keep toning and building muscle to look more leaner plus the price was cheaper that one month's gym membership.   Sagi Kalev  is the trainer behind Body Beast. The program is 90 day, divided into ...

Weight Loss Update January 2015

I'm nearing the end of Block 2/Bulk phase of Body Beast.  The part I was not comfortable with lifting weights was the amount of eating required.  I was nervous to gain the weight but realize the fat is decreasing and muscles are showing.  I promise I'm not sucking in!!! Next month is Block 3/Beast, the cutting phase.  I can do this!!! Here is my 3 year comparison.  The picture on the left was me when I use to go hiking a lot.  Hiking helped me lose weight but I would go hiking 1-2x a month and I still ate out a lot.  This time with Body Beast I am working out 5x a week about 45 minutes a day and meal prep clean foods.  You can do it too!!! Learn your relationship with food and build healthy habits!!!

Weight Loss Update December 2014

Merry Christmas here is a 1 year comparison My weight loss update:  lost 54 pounds so far and starting to lift some weights. It has been a fantastic journey watching my body go through the changes.  I get my bad eating and lazy day, but it does come down to keeping up with healthy eating habits and scheduling the workouts!!!! Trust in the process and commit to it.  It  will take some time but if you want to change then you have to keep at it!!!
